The England cricket team, also known as the Three Lions, represents England and Wales in international cricket. Governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the team has a rich history dating back to its first Test match in 1877 against Australia. England is a founding member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and has full membership status.
The team’s current Test captain is Ben Stokes, while Jos Buttler leads the ODI and T20I squads. Under the coaching of Brendon McCullum, England has been known for its aggressive and innovative approach to the game.
England has played 1,083 Test matches, winning 400, losing 328, and drawing 355. They have also participated in 805 ODIs, winning 403, and 199 T20Is, winning 1041. The team has won the Cricket World Cup once (2019) and the T20 World Cup twice (2010, 2022).
