While Indian players did not witness any significant movement in the rankings, England stars Jacob Bethell and Sam Curran made some gains.

England cricket team stars made big gains in the ICC rankings for T20Is following two back-to-back wins against India. After the first game in Durham was washed out, the hosts secured a 4-wicket win in the ENG vs IND 2nd T20I, followed by a mammoth 125-run win in the 3rd T20I in Nottingham. While Indian players did not witness any significant movement in the rankings for batters, bowlers and all-rounders in T20Is, England stars like Jacob Bethell and Sam Curran made some significant gains.

Bethell, Curran make big gains after 2 wins vs India

Jacob Bethell has jumped 7 spots from 15th to 8th to storm into the top ten rankings for batters in T20Is. This jump comes after his match-winning 76-run knock at the Old Trafford which helped the hosts snatch the game away from India. Jos Buttler continues to stay on the 7th position, having not made any significant contributions in the series so far. Despite losing two games, India’s Ishan Kishan has retained his spot as the number 1 ranked T20I batter while Abhishek Sharma is on the 2nd spot. Tilak Varma, 6th ranked, is the only other batter in the top ten.

Sam Curran, who picked up 3/33 in the ENG vs IND 2nd T20I, has jumped to the 71st place in the rankings for bowlers. England’s Adil Rashid has climbed up one spot to become the third-ranked bowler in T20Is while Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan continues to occupy the top position. Varun Chakravarthy, who was at the 3rd spot earlier, has now slipped to the fifth. Jasprit Bumrah, the only other Indian in the top ten, has slipped by 2 places to the 8th as he has been rested for the series against England.

In the rankings for all-rounders in T20Is, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub has replaced Hardik Pandya at the 2nd position while Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza’s reign at the top continues. Will Jacks has jumped six spots to the 7th position while Shivam Dube has moved out of the top ten. Meanwhile, Sam Curran has moved up 6 spots to the 13th position after his impressive 3/33 spell in the 2nd T20I and his unbeaten 41-run knock in the 3rd T20I.
