IPL 2023: “Iss baar Khatam karke aaunga” Rinku Singh fulfills promise, finishes things off in style
During last year in one of the run chases, Rinku failed to get KKR through against LSG despite scoring a blazing 15-ball 40. At the time, the Southpaw was shattered and made a promise to himself and the team that next time he will finish the game. True to his words, Rinku scored five sixes in a row of Yash Dayal and took KKR over the line from a near-impossible situation. Nitish Rana shared Rinku’s message to Shreyas and said, “Rinku bol raha tha last year ke tarah chodunga nai, khatam karke aaunga.”
Rinku delivered his promise and enabled KKR to a three-wicket win over GT. Speaking about the last over bowled GT’s Yash Dayal, the left-hand pacer had 29 runs to defend in the last over, but the youngster completely lost the plot and delivered three full tosses to Rinku, which was dispatched easily.
With 10 needed off the last two balls, Dayal bowled slower balls outside off, but the southpaw was up for it, and smashed two sixes to send the Ahmedabad crowd and internet into a frenzy. Rinku’s unbeaten 48 off 21 balls earned him a Player of the Match award, and also plaudits from cricket experts across the globe.
