Indian bowlers were under pressure after poor bowling performances in the first two matches. But with India staring at an embarrassing 8-0 losing streak against South Africa, the bowlers delivered. The win means, India still trail South Africa 1-2 in the series. The 4th T20 will take place in Rajkot on Friday, June 17.

The three bowlers — Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel — were under fire for poor shows returned to form. Harshal Patel bagged career-best international figures of 4/25 while Yuzvendra Chahal bagged 3/20 and Axar managed 1/28 to take India to victory.
Chasing a tricky target of 180 in Vizag, South Africa started cautiously but Axar Patel dealt the first blow inside powerplay, removing Temba Bavuma in the 4th over. Soon, Harshal Patel sent back Reeza Hendricks inside the powerplay.
But it opened the floodgates. Yuzvendra Chahal spun a web around Proteas batters. His first victim was Rassie van der Dussen followed by Dwayne Pretorius. What South Africa lacked was partnerships in the middle-overs. Heinrich Klaasen top-scored with 29 but lost David Miller cheaply for just 3. In the end, India bowled out South Africa for 131 in 19.1 overs to make it 2-1 in the series.

Earlier, sent to bat, India finally managed to shrug off the poor powerplays. Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad both smashed half-centuries, stitching together a 97-run stand.
Ruturaj Gaikwad was on the firing line for failing to impress in India colours. But he finally repaid the faith, smashing a 35-ball 57. His opening partner Ishan Kishan started slowly but he finally found his rhythm, hammering 35-ball 54. However, after the two departed, India struggled.
Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik all failed to fire, scoring just 51 runs in the last 7 overs at a modest run rate of just 7.29. Hardik repaid the lost balls with a 21-ball 31 to help India post 179/5.
