IPL 2025 highest-paid star Rishabh Pant failed to fire once again as LSG were handed a 8-wicket defeat by DC. In the same match, KL Rahul created history by surpassing David Warner to become the fastest to score 5000 runs in the IPL. Meanwhile, a section of stars who have been consistently performing in the domestic circuit and in the IPL are set to be rewarded with spots in the Indian team for the England Tests. Pant’s batting position baffles experts

The LSG captain poor form in IPL 2025 continued as he was dismissed for a 2-ball duck in the game against his former team DC. What was more baffling was his decision to bat at number 7. While he normally bats at number 4 or 5, Pant decided to walk out much later in the game, even sending Abdul Samad above him. Read more here

Abhishek Nayar sacking saga

The Abhishek Nayar sacking saga saw a new twist on Tuesday. The former Indian cricketer, who joined Team India as an assistant coach in 2024, was sacked following India’s debacle in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. A report claimed that Indian captain Rohit Sharma wasn’t kept in the loop while the board decided to get rid of Nayar. Read more here

Lightning fast Rahul

KL Rahul etched his name into the IPL record books with another classy knock on his return to the Ekana Stadium on Tuesday. Facing his former side Lucknow Super Giants, Rahul smashed a fine half-century to guide Delhi Capitals to victory. In the process, the 33-year-old went past 5000 IPL runs, making him the quickest to do so ahead of David Warner and Virat Kohli. Read more here

BCCI has started preparations for the India Test Tour of England. The board is having discussions regarding the squad for the 5-match series. BCCI is looking to fill a couple of spots in the middle order and is interested in picking Shreyas Iyer, Karun Nair, Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, Devdutt Padikkal, and Sarfaraz Khan. Read more here

Bhogle vs CAB

A day after reports claimed that Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) had penned a letter against Harsha Bhogle from visiting Kolkata, the latter has responded. The expert, along with Simon Doull, was critical about Kolkata curator Sujan Mukherjee in the “home advantage row”. That did not sit well with the CAB, who in turn wrote to the BCCI seeking a directive to not allow the duo to pursue broadcasting duties for matches in Kolkata. Read more here

Pakistan eye Hesson for head coach

The PCB is now looking for a full-time coach for the Pakistan Cricket team, after the interim coach Aaqib Javed decided not to continue with the job. If reports are to be believed former RCB director Mike Hesson’s name is under consideration. The Kiwi has been associated with the New Zealand team in the past, and is currently coaching the Islamabad United franchise as well. Read more here
