Brett Lee blasts LSG for rushing Mayank Yadav through his injury, believes speedster misses T20 World Cup through injury

Former Australian pace legend Brett Lee has blasted Lucknow Super Giants over Mayank Yadav’s fresh injury concerns. The young speedster made his comeback in the game against Mumbai Indians. But he couldn’t complete his quota of 4 overs and left the field. It is understood that Mayank Yadav has suffered a similar abdominal strain like he did a couple of matches ago.

Mayank Yadav lighted up IPL 2024 with his blistering pace. He consistently clocked 150+kph before suffering an abdominal injury. LSG immediately undertook workload management for the player. But Lee believes that the youngster was rushed from his injury and thus LSG now has the pay the price for the same.

Brett Lee Blasts Lucknow Super Giants

“A side strain or whatever they’re calling it, normally takes at least four to six weeks to even come right. We don’t know the depths of how big a strain it was but for somebody who is pushing the limits of their body by bowling 150 kmph, that’s not good management at all. His first game coming back and getting injured, has to directly be on the leadership and the medical staff of the Lucknow Super Giants,” Brett Lee told JioCinema.

Lee has blasted LSG and it’s medical staff. He claims that it only the player who will suffer. Eventually, owing to his injury, Mayank lost out on a chance to make it to the National Team for the ICC T20 World Cup.

The only person who has to pay this price is this poor young guy Mayank, who is just electric. Everyone in the IPL has loved seeing what he’s brought… You wish he got the right advice, so he doesn’t have to go through and absorb this. Now, it’s most probably going to mean that he’s going to miss out on the World Cup if there’s an injury that might come up,” Lee concluded.
