Mayank Yadav stole the spotlight in Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) triumph over Punjab Kings (PBKS) during his IPL debut, showcasing his blistering pace by clocking 155.8 kmph. The 21-year-old impressed with figures of 3/27 in four overs, earning the Player of the Match accolade.
Born on June 17, 2002, Mayank made his mark in domestic cricket while representing Delhi, claiming 51 wickets across formats despite limited opportunities. Unfortunately, he suffered a hamstring injury and missed IPL 2023. Mayank was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2022 mega auction for a base price of INR 20 lakhs. However, he remained sidelined for the subsequent two seasons due to team composition issues and injuries.

Career
Domestic career
Mayank Yadav entered the professional cricket arena and debuted in Twenty20 format for Delhi against Manipur on October 11, 2022. His List A debut followed shortly after against Haryana on December 12, 2022, and the next day, he made his first-class debut against Maharashtra.
IPL Career
In February 2023, Lucknow Super Giants acquired him for the 2023 Indian Premier League season for Rs. 20 Lakhs. Unfortunately, injury sidelined him for the entire 2023 season. However, Yadav made a remarkable IPL debut in 2024 against the Punjab Kings, where he clinched three wickets while conceding 27 runs. He earned the man of the match award for this outstanding performance. Subsequently, in the following match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, he showcased another remarkable display, claiming 3 wickets for 14 runs and registering the fastest ball of IPL 2024 at 156.7 kmph.
