Nepal Cricket Team has been slapped with a major blow. Spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has claimed that he has been denied visa to USA . This means he will be unable to take part in the ICC T20 World Cup. Lamichhane claims like 2019, he has been yet again denied visa for the upcoming ICC tournament.
No Sandeep Lamichhane in T20 World Cup
Initially, Nepal didn’t include Sandeep’s name in the T20 World Cup squad. This is mainly owing to the fact that the player had to serve a jail sentence and needed clearance from the ICC. He was however cleared off his rape charges by the court.
This meant that he needed ICC’s clearance. But it was understood that after the clearance form the court, the most successful cricketer from Nepal was slated to be added to the squad.
While charged, the player was suspended from International and domestic cricket. But after being cleared off charges, he was slated to be a part of the squad.
