K9 Esports finished as the runner-up (second place) at the BGMI Showdown 2025, narrowly missing a direct slot for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025 Gauntlet Stage. With the upcoming BGMI International Cup (BMIC) 2025 scheduled from October 31 to November 2, the team is gearing up for another shot at PMGC 2025 qualification. InsideSport caught up with NINJABOI, a key player of K9 Esports, to discuss their Showdown journey, lessons learned, and plans for BMIC 2025.
NINJABOI Shares Strategy Ahead of BMIC 2025
Q: You narrowly missed the PMGC Gauntlet Stage direct slot—how do you feel about your performance today?
A: We choked on the first day of the BGMI Showdown 2025 Grand Finals. On the last day, we played well, but the zero-pointer games (2-3) on day one cost us the direct qualification for the PMGC 2025 Gauntlet Stage slot. Regarding PMGC 2025 qualification, BMIC 2025 is happening from October 31 to November 2. We will try our best to qualify for PMGC 2025 through BMIC 2025.
Q: What were the key moments or decisions in the final matches that you think determined the results?
A: For now, we haven’t thought much about the international teams. After the conclusion of BMSD 2025, we will have a meeting to discuss strategy and gameplay for the BGMI International Cup 2025.

Q: What lessons have you learned from this Showdown that will help you in upcoming international competitions?
A: From BGMI Showdown 2025, we have learned that every single point is crucial for lifting the trophy. No game should end with zero points, as it breaks the gameplay momentum and affects the upcoming games.
Q: How confident are you about earning a PMGC spot through other routes, given your current momentum?
A: As OnePlus K9 Esports, we were confident about winning the BGMI Showdown 2025 trophy, but unfortunately, we missed it. In BGMI International Cup 2025, also known as BMIC 2025, we will give our best performance and play better this time. Since there will be 8 international teams, we will give them tough competition and aim to win the trophy.
Q: Which team could be a hurdle for you in lifting the BMIC 2025 trophy and securing a PMGC 2025 slot? We have seen during the India-Korea Invitational that DPlus won by defeating Indian teams.
A: We haven’t competed against Korean or Japanese teams yet, so we can’t say which team might be a challenge. But we will play with the mentality that no team can stop us from lifting the BGMI International 2025 trophy and securing our spot in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2025.
