PMWC 2026: Tournament Format
The competition promises intense action across three distinct stages:
- Group Stage (August 6–9): The 32 qualified teams are divided into two groups of 16. Each group will compete in 12 matches, with the top 10 teams advancing directly to the Grand Finals. Teams placing 11th–26th will head to the Survival Stage, while the bottom 6 teams will face elimination.
- Survival Stage (August 11–12): This critical phase will feature 16 teams fighting through 12 matches. The top 6 teams will secure their spots in the Grand Finals, while the remaining 10 will be eliminated.
- Grand Finals (August 14–16): The final 16 teams will compete over three days to claim the championship title. The event will utilize the “Smash Rule” on the final day, adding an extra layer of strategic pressure as teams race to reach the “Match Point” threshold and secure a chicken dinner to lift the trophy.
