PUBG Mobile 4.2 Update Release Date
Level Infinite officially announced the PUBG Mobile 4.1 Update (Themed Mode) end date which is 5th January 2026. This means, PUBG Mobile 4.2 Update Release Date is 6th January 2026 which will bring new Primewood Genesis themed mode along with Weapon Balance Adjustments.

PUBG Mobile 4.2 Update: Primewood Genesis Themed Mode
Themed Mode Story – The power of the Sacred Tree awakens, and the world is turned upside down! Cities are reshaped by the life energy, while mutated plants spread wildly, with contaminated areas full of danger. Step into the unknown, eliminate the ferocious contamination source, and purify the eroded land! Banish the darkness and win the rewards of the Sacred Tree! Confront the twisted will of nature, protect the power of the Sacred Tree, and join the new battleground now!
Map Area: Corrupted City
- Several major urban areas on the map have new buildings, and their appearance and environment have changed due to the influence of the Sacred Tree.
- The cities are also filled with various corrupted plants, surrounded by vision-impairing corrupting fog and twisting corruption vines.
- Some areas are inaccessible due to being blocked by tree roots. Purifying the corresponding areas will cause the tree roots to wither, at which point you can enter and explore normally.
Corruption Plant Zone:
- Corruption areas with high concentrations of ominous energy will be marked on the map. This energy has condensed into sinister flowers that seek to corrupt and destroy the land.
- Destroy the corrupting plants in the Corruption Plant Zone to help the Sacred Tree purify the land. After destroying all the corrupting plants, the Sacred Tree will grant supplies.
PUBG Mobile 4.2 Update: Weapon Balance Adjustments
The update focuses heavily on rebalancing several key weapons to create a more refined shooting experience. Assault rifles such as the AKM, M762, ACE32, Honey Badger, and Mk47 will receive a 2-point increase in base damage, giving them more stopping power in short and mid-range fights. The Groza is also getting a 1-point damage boost, further cementing its dominance as a high-tier assault rifle.
Meanwhile, multiple shotguns — including the S686, S1897, NS2000, S12K, DBS, and M1014 — are set to receive reduced base damage. Their bullet spread will now include a touch more randomness, making close-range battles more skill-dependent and less predictable.
The PUBG Mobile 4.2 Update is shaping up to be one of the most well-rounded patches yet, combining refined weapon balances, smoother mechanics, and fresh content across multiple modes. Players can expect the full release in early January 2026.
