SuperGaming, the developer behind the popular Indus Battle Royale, has announced the postponement of the highly anticipated LAN Grand Finale of the Indus International Tournament (IIT). The decision, revealed in a statement released earlier today, comes in response to the current climate of international unrest and escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
Indus International Tournament LAN Postponed
The grand finale was scheduled to take place on May 18, 2025, at the Drome Arena in Pune, marking the culmination of a major esports tournament for Indus Battle Royale, SuperGaming’s homegrown Indo-futuristic battle royale title.
The event was poised to be a significant moment in Indian gaming, bringing together top talent from across the globe to compete for a substantial prize pool of ₹2.5 crore, with the winning team set to claim ₹2 crore. Additionally, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the LAN finale was to be awarded a custom Mahindra Thar, adding to the prestige of the event.
SuperGaming’s statement emphasized the difficult nature of the decision but underscored the paramount importance of the safety and well-being of their community, players, creators, and crew. Citing multiple domestic and international travel advisories, the company stated that postponing the event was the “most responsible course of action” at this time.
“We were all set to welcome players, fans, and creators from across the world to celebrate a landmark moment in Indian gaming,” the statement read. “However, for now, this pause is the right thing for our people, and for the spirit of what INDUS stands for.”
The Indus International Tournament has been a significant undertaking, designed to elevate Indian esports talent onto the global stage. The tournament witnessed participation from over 1000 teams across four phases: Homegrown, National, Powerplay, and International. A total of 946 matches were played, culminating in the qualification of 15 top teams for the LAN finale.
