WWE Smackdown Match Card: A 12-man gauntlet match

WWE has announced a “12 days of Christmas” 12-man gauntlet match for next week to determine the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship. The 12-man to compete in this match would be Shanky, Ricochet, Erik, Ivar, Angel, Humberto, Sami Zayn, Sheamus, Cesaro, Jinder Mahal, Mansoor, and Drew Gulak.

The match was made official by Adam Pearce in a backstage segment that included Sami Zayn. Sami approached Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville in their office and asked them to give him a proper shot for the Universal Championship. Instead of putting Sami in the Universal Title picture, Pearce suggested that he should compete in the 12-man gauntlet match next week to get a shot at Shinsuke Nakamura’s Intercontinental Championship. Sami didn’t look too pleased but had to agree with the decision.
