WWE Smackdown matches & segments of the night

The Bloodline in the ring- Roman Reigns starts off on the mic by asking Chicago to ‘Acknowledge’ him. He then said that he doesn’t like it when his cousins lose because they are all of the same blood. He then point towards Heyman and told him that he isn’t of the same blood.

Reigns then asked Paul Heyman again whether he knew that Brock Lesnar was going to return at Summerslam? Whether he was going to be there at Madison Square Garden? Whether he knows about Brock Lesnar’s suspension getting lifted? Reigns then finally asked Heyman if he is still the special counsel or an advocate?

Before Paul could have answered anything, Roman asked Paul why is he protecting Brock Lesnar from him? Paul Heyman then grabbed the mic and with fear in his gestures, Heyman finally said that he isn’t protecting Lesnar from Roman, but he is protecting Roman from Lesnar.

After hearing this, Roman hugged Paul Heyman and appreciated his honesty. Roman then fired Paul Heyman from his Bloodline group. While Roman was walking off, he hit Heyman with a Superman Punch and set him for a chair attack on his skull. Just when Roman was about to hit the chair shot, Brock Lesnar’s music hit, and out came the Beast.

Roman was terrified seeing the Beast and sent his cousins to tackle him. Both Jimmy & Jey were wasted with an F5, and now Brock turned his attention to Roman Reigns who was standing in the ring with the steel chair in his hands.

Just when Brock slide inside the ring, Roman Reigns hit multiple chair shots on his back, but it wasn’t enough to put the Beast down as he got up and delivered not one but two devastating F5s to end the night.

Backstage- Paul Heyman was there to receive Roman Reigns who arrived in his lavish Black car. However, Reigns opted to get out of the car from the other side and told Heyman to go into the ring.

The Usos vs. The New Day- Jey Uso and Sir Kofi started the proceedings. We saw an SOS from Sir Kofi in the early stage of the match but Jey somehow managed to kick out at 2 counts.

Despite taking an SOS, Jey tagged in his brother Jimmy and started working on Sir Kofi. He was on the money with his offense and Kofi was feeling the heat. Kofi finally got some space to tag in King Woods by nailing a superkick on Jimmy. He tagged in Woods, but the referee never saw the tag as he got distracted by Jey Uso at the same time.

The referee didn’t allow King Woods to get into the match, and on the outside, Sir Kofi was hit with a vicious clothesline by Jey Uso. We now head into commercials. After the commercials, we saw King Woods getting the tag and he was working pretty well all alone on The Usos.

After sending Jimmy outside the ring, Woods landed on him with a running dive from the top rope. He then took the other route by sending Jimmy inside the ring and landing on him with a leg drop from the top turnbuckle.

In the closing moments of the match, we saw Jimmy giving the tag to Jey, but the referee never noticed it and didn’t allow Jey to get into the ring. Jey was going for the aerial route as he st himself on the top turnbuckle, but King Woods kicked him and he tumbled down the ring. Meanwhile, in the ring, Kofi hit Jimmy with a Trouble in Paradise to secure a win.

The interviewer approached them and asked if they are still ‘Happy’ after what happened earlier tonight during the Happy Talk segment. Moss was stunned to hear this, but he couldn’t do anything about it.

Naomi vs. Shayna Baszler- Naomi held the mic and asked Sonya Deville to give her the one-on-one match (against Sonya Deville) she has been craving for months. Sonya came out and told Naomi that she has already told her when she is wearing the authority suit Naomi can’t touch her.

Sonya then came up with an opponent and it was Shayna Baszler. Before the match could have started, Shayna attacked Naomi from behind and started working on her left knee. After assaulting her knee, Sonya asked the referee to ring the bell. After the bell rang, Shayna again attacked Naomi’s ring, but Naomi found a way to roll up Shayna and pick up a surprising win over her.

Ridge Holland vs. Cesaro- Before the match could have started Holland hit Cesaro with his rod in the side ribs. Cesaro was in extreme pain and he then borrowed some time from the referee. We now head into commercials.

After the commercial, the match got underway. Holland drove Cesaro into the corner and started working on his injured ribs that were taped during the commercial. Holland hit Cesaro with a knee-first body slam. Cesaro, however, got his chance to show his offense for a while. He hit Holland with an uppercut near the barricade, but that turned out to be the only offense from the struggling Cesaro.

In the closing moments, Holland just hit a power slam on Cesaro that saw the latter landing badly on his injured ribs. That was it, Ridge then went for a cover and defeated Cesaro.

Happy Talk- Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin were in the ring with the desk they stole last week from Adam Pearce’s office which had Drew McIntyre’s sword stuck in it. Both Corbin and Moss were then seen cracking jokes on McIntyre meanwhile the crowd was booing them and started chanting CM Punk, CM Punk! as they were getting bored.

Corbin then asked Moss to take out the sword from the desk. Moss tried hard but was unable to take it out. Corbin and Moss then attempted to pull the sword off the table together but failed again. Finally, Drew McIntyre broke to the scene, he first sent Corbin and Moss outside the ring with heavy attacks and then pulled out his sword ‘Angela’ from the desk.

In the parking lot- Paul Heyman was waiting for Roman Reigns in Parking Lot, but it was the beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar who arrived in his black car. Paul was stunned to see the Beast who exited the car and asked Paul if he was expecting something else. Paul said yes and Lesnar asked if it was Roman Reigns? Lesnar then walked off saying good luck to Paul Heyman.

The Viking Raiders vs. Shanky & Jinder Mahal- The match started after the commercial and we saw Erick working on Jinder. After displaying some of his offenses Erick tag-in Ivaar and he was up with his offense on the Modern Day Maharaja.

Ivar exchanged tag with Erick and Jinder tagged Shanky. The 7 feet giant made Erick his bunny and was beating the hell out of him. A big right-hand chest chop was the best thing to witness from Shanky who was looking unstoppable.

Shanky tagged in Jinder but Erick showed resilience against him and went into his corner to tag Ivar. Jinder and Ivar exchanged some offense before Ivar started dominating, he then tagged in Erick but Jinder took control now. In the closing moments now, Jinder was sent outside the ring with an overhead slam by Erick, meanwhile, the two legal men Shanky and Ivar were in the ring doing their things. A cross-body dive from the heavyweight Ivar from the top turnbuckle ended Shanky’s stay in the ring and the Viking Raiders won the match.

Toni Storm & Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Flair & Shotzi- Storm & Shotzi started the proceedings with a classic wrestling lock. Toni soon took Shotzi into a side headlock. Both ladies were taking each other into different locks before Toni hit Shotzi with a big boot and tagged in Sasha Banks.

Sasha and Toni tried to work together against Shotzi, but the latter tagged in Charlotte. Now, Charlotte and Sasha displayed their offense for a while before Sasha tagged in Toni, Tonit was fanatic with her offense on Charlotte but was kept quiet with an elbow on the face from Charlotte who then hit a big boot on Sasha Banks to send her down from the apron. The Boss Sasha Banks was looking good with her offense before she was floored by a discus clothesline from Shotzi. Sasha was then sent back-first into the barricade near the announce table by Charlotte Flair.

Charlotte was the legal one now and she was all over Sasha Banks. After working on her for a while, Charlotte tagged in Shotzi, who missed a running knee strike on Banks that allowed her to tag in Storm. Toni Storm worked pretty well for a while, before she was caught by Charlotte who took a tag from Shotzi without getting noticed. After making her way to the ring, Charlotte sent Toni outside the ring as we head into yet another commercial break.

After the commercials, we saw Toni & Charlotte struggling and Toni somehow tagged in Sasha. Now Charlotte and Sasha were all over each other and in a moment or two, we witnessed a PPV main event with Sasha and Charlotte in the ring going after each other with their heavy offenses.

Sasha went up on the top turnbuckle, but Toni took the tag from her. Charlotte didn’t realize that the tag was made and all of a sudden, Charlotte was nailed with a crossbody dive from Toni Storm.
