Tonight’s show kicked off with Paul Heyman sitting backstage and getting interviewed by Kayla Braxton. Paul was asked about last week when he got fired by Paul Heyman. He said that he got embarrassed and humiliated publically last week but doesn’t regret telling the truth to Roman Reigns publically and taking a Superman Punch because it was his role to protect the champion and the championship.

WWE Smackdown Highlights: Ricochet made it to the end
Ricochet pulled off a Herculean effort during the 12-man Gauntlet match set to determine the next challenger for Shinsuke Nakamura’s Intercontinental Championship. Sami Zayn won the bout that lasted for more than 30 minutes by pinning the high-flying Ricochet, but nothing should be taken away from the latter, who was exceptional throughout.

He eliminated not one, not two, but three individuals during the Gauntlet Match, including two former World Champions in Sheamus & Jinder Mahal. Besides Mahal and Sheamus, he eliminated Humberto and almost got over the line, but in the end, it was nothing but heartbreak.
