WWE News: John Cena to return as Peacemaker in a TV spinoff on HBO Max
John Cena as Peacemaker pulled it off pretty well in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad reboot. In the movie, Peacemaker and Bloodsport (Idris Elba’s character) had a not-so-friendly rivalry that culminated with a shootout towards the end of the movie. It was Bloodsport who shot Peacemaker through the neck, but in the post-credit scene, it got revealed that the Peacemaker somehow survived the shootout and gets hired by Amanda Waller’s subordinates to save the world from some new threats in the future.
WWE News-John Cena Peacemaker: The image shared on Peacemaker on HBO Max official Twitter handle seemingly picks off from where the post-credit scene was left. John Cena was seen sitting at a table with his new squad, including Economos, Harcourt, and another costumed character, Vigilante.
James Gunn has admitted that he is not a fan of bringing characters when they die in the previous installments, but with Peacemaker, he did something out of the box. Gunn told EW, “I did exactly the thing I hate when other filmmakers do [it]. But I did it! I’ll have to live with the repercussions, which is the most incredible TV show people will ever see.”
WWE News: When will the spinoff premiere?
Peacemaker and John Cena fans should mark their calendars as Peacemaker is set to premiere in January 2022 with 8 episodes in the season. Peacemaker will be teaming up with three new characters named Vigilante, Adebayo, and a mercenary named Murn.
