Although Lesnar made his awaited return, this was a big surprise for WWE fans and WWE backstage. Many people backstage were not aware of Brock Lesnar’s return, despite a few. The Beast Incarnate appeared at the end of the WWE SmackDown show, exciting the fans even more.
Earlier, WWE booked multi-time champion, Randy Orton, to face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. However, recently the Viper went through a surgery which scrapped WWE’s plans to feature him at SummerSlam. Recently, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio gave a brief note on WWE’s backstage on calling Brock Lesnar for SummerSlam.
Meltzer mentioned two reasons WWE relied on calling the Beast Incarnate back to face the Tribal Chief. He said, “Following injuries to Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes, and blowing off Riddle on SmackDown, the WWE title picture looked empty again, which led to the return of Brock Lesnar.”
”On the other hand, Reigns and Lesnar are the only two people truly pushed and protected at PPV level with the exception of the injured Rhodes, and it’s by far the biggest match they can do in the SummerSlam title match,” he added. [H/T Sportskeeda]

Last week, WWE announced its first match for the SummerSlam Premium Live Event following Brock Lesnar’s return. On the recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown, the Beast Incarnate put himself on notice after assaulting Roman Reigns and The Usos.

Further, WWE made an official announcement for SummerSlam making a title match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match. Once again, both men will face each other, revoking their past rivalry. Although both men have faced each other at WrestleMania 38, this time it’s different for both men colliding one more time in Last Man Standing Match.
