As per Ringside News, WWE has not written off Austin Theory and he is in a much better place than before Vince McMahon’s retirement. The report stated he will be feuding in the storyline for the US Title alongside Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley.
Ringside News asked around about Austin Theory losing his MITB briefcase.

A tenured member from WWE’s creative team told Ringside News that “Theory is better off today than he has been since Vince retired.” Moreover, the backstage producers are interested in lifting Theory into a perfect position in the US Title program.
Earlier this year, Austin Theory won the MITB briefcase, which put him in a hard situation siding him for months to cash in his MITB contract. After Mr. McMahon’s retirement, the 25-year-old lost multiple matches without a definite storyline. He also featured on the NXT brand where he teased cashing in his MITB contract for the NXT Title, but it didn’t happen.
WWE News: Bobby Lashley buries Austin Theory on Monday Night Raw
On the recent episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE Universe witnessed mass destruction from the All-Mighty Bobby Lashley. The former WWE Champion decimated Seth Rollins before the US Title match. Soon, Austin Theory joined the mix where he cashed his MITB briefcase to face the Visionary for the title.
However, Theory’s plan didn’t go well after Bobby Lashley interrupted him withdrawing the referee while the pinfall. Eventually, Lashley decimated Theory on the ringside, costing his MITB contract. The match concluded with Seth Rollins, retaining his US Title after a stomp.
