Although WWE fans gave a lot of support for Sasha Banks and Naomi’s bold step, WWE made strict actions against the two superstars by suspending them indefinitely. Instead, WWE announced a future women’s tag team tournament for the vacant tag team titles.
However, WWE Universe hasn’t received any further updates regarding the women’s tag team tournament. As per the reports, WWE possibly scrapped the plans for the tournament. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, he noted WWE has made no plans to commence the women’s tag team tournament.
“That women’s tag team tournament is like dead now. Yeah, not a word. They had an idea for four women’s teams whatever they end up being. It was pitched but it was never signed off on as of like a week ago. Now, I have no idea what’s going on, it’s like not a word.” [H/T Wrestling News.Co]
A few weeks back, SmackDown Commentator Michael Cole revealed the first announcement of the future women’s tag team tournament and it was also reported that WWE might call up NXT superstars to compete in the tournament.

WWE News and Rumors: WWE has an option to freeze Sasha Banks and Naomi’s Contract
Sasha Banks and Noami’s Raw Walkout abruptly made the WWE backstage unhappy. Eventually, the duo was scheduled for the Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event in two different title matches. However, WWE scrapped their pans after their exit.
Recently, many reports floated over the internet which revealed WWE might freeze the contracts for Sasha Banks and Naomi. WWE has an option to freeze any superstar’s contract for a long time if the superstar is not ready to compete. Eventually, WWE uses this when a superstar is under an injury period.

As per the reports, the contracts of both superstars were going to end soon. However, there is no official confirmation of their contract freezing.
