UFC kicked off 2023 with a bang, thanks to a fight card full of excitement. In the year’s first main event, Sean Strickland triumphed over Nassourdine Imavov, capping off an excellent UFC Fight Night 217. The action gets better with this weekend’s UFC 283, the first PPV of the year. The highlight of the main card would be Burns v. UFC 283: Fighters in the main event and co-main event
Glover Teixeira vs Jamahal Hill
Glover Teixeira (33-8), a stalwart fan favorite, and No. 7-ranked Jamahal Hill (11-1) will square off in the main event of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), which will feature a blockbuster contest for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title.

From 2019 to 2021, Glover had a six-fight winning streak, including victories over Jan Blachowicz, Anthony Smith, Ion Cuţelaba, and Thiago Santos. Teixeira is coming off a loss to Jiri Prochazka into this fight. Even though Glover had the upper hand over Prochazka up until the point of defeat, he was still defeated and forfeited his title to the Czech fighter. The now 43-year-old former champion declined to face Magomed Ankalaev as a replacement and is preparing for Jamahal Hill, a new foe.

Since he joined the UFC in 2019, Jamahal Hill has a record of 6-1-1. Hill, now the No. 7 contender in the light heavyweight division and scheduled to fight Anthony Smith in February 2023, will compete for the title. Hill’s most recent victory came against Thiago Santos in a thrilling fourth-round TKO. In the last three years, Hill’s MMA resume has gained more incredible notoriety, but before that, the 31-year-old had not yet demonstrated that he was championship-caliber.

Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno
The pay-per-view co-main event of UFC 283 features yet another title fight between the two top-ranked fighters in the world, Deiveson Figueiredo (21-2) and Brandon Moreno (20-6), who will make history in their fourth encounter. The three times the competitors have faced off in the Octagon have resulted in 13 rounds and more than 60 minutes of savage combat between them.
Before Figueiredo won unanimously at UFC 270 a year ago to reclaim the title, the two fighters first fought to a draw at UFC 256, with the Brazilian retaining the title as the current champion. Moreno then claimed a submission victory to wrest the belt away from the Brazilian at UFC 263 in mid-2020.
The first-ever tetralogy match between Moreno and Figueiredo resulted from Moreno’s victory over Kai Kara-France in an interim title match in July last year. This matchup promises to be another thrilling contest like their past three battles.
