Will Conor McGregor and Jon Jones return in 2023?

McGregor, who continues to be the face of the sport, hasn’t participated since fracturing his leg in July 2021. However, he’s still been vocal about making a comeback, even though other sports have seen the emergence of new stars that will keep fans interested.

Islam Makhachev, who was just declared lightweight champion, will defend his belt against featherweight king Alexander Volkanovski in one of the biggest fights of 2023. The two are set to face off in February on Volkanovski’s home soil of Australia. In addition, Kamaru Usman, the previous No. 1 fighter in terms of pound-for-pound rankings, is anticipated to attempt to reclaim the welterweight championship from Leon Edwards, who deposed the Nigerian-American with a spectacular knockout in August 2022.

After Edwards’ title victory earned him only the second British UFC champion ever, the pair’s rematch—their third encounter—may even serve as the main event of March’s London card. Will ‘GOAT’ Jon Jones, a light heavyweight, finally switch to heavyweight? If so, will the champion Francis Ngannou recover in time to compete against him?
