Gilbert Burns calls himself the ‘Hungriest guy’ in UFC

In the co-main event, Masvidal and Burns will square off. The location and full event schedule have not yet been made public. Burns (20-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) recently defeated Neil Magny via fast submission at UFC 283 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Before it, in April 2022, he faced up against Khamzat Chimaev in a barnburner. Burns pushed the powerful, unbeaten star to the limit, losing the fight but seeing his stock soar. Burns only engaged in combat once in 2022.

The 38-year-old Miami native called himself the hungriest guy in the UFC as he goes head-to-head against Masvidal. The Brazilian have been lobbying for a battle for some time, and the Brazilian is the favorite to win.

On the other hand, Masvidal (35-16 MMA, 12-9 UFC) hasn’t competed since losing to Colby Covington by a majority decision at UFC 272 in March 2022. Before then, Masvidal had suffered two consecutive losses to Kamaru Usman, the reigning champion.
