UFC 284: Alexander Volkanovski on his new fighting camp for Islam Makhachev vs. Alexander Volkanovski
Alexander Volkanovski will compete against Islam Makhachev for the lightweight championship in the main event of UFC 284 in Perth on February 12, 2023. King of the featherweight division, Volkanovski, will upsize to 155 pounds and challenge the champion in a straight fight. For obvious reasons, he will have a different training camp for the upcoming bout.
Talking to media in UFC 284 ticket sales press conference, Alexander Volkanovski said, “Stacked on that little bit of weight, put on that little bit of more muscle for the lightweight division, especially a guy like Islam [Makhachev] you know who is gonna be a very strong grappler. It’s gonna be a different preparation which excites me as well. I don’t want any other fight, but this and the UFC gave it to me. So I am very stoked for that and I can’t wait to, you know, make history here in Perth on February 12.”

UFC 284 Islam Makhachev vs. Alexander Volkanovski: Robert Whittaker hopes to fight Alex Pereira next
Former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker and No. 6-ranked Paulo Costa will face battle on February 12 in Perth, Australia. He just attended the press conference for the UFC 284 ticket sales. The former UFC champion claimed that although he has not yet made plans beyond Costa, Alex Pereira is unquestionably on his list. In comparison to Adesanya, Robert said he would be a better opponent for Pereira.
Also, he wondered talking about the size of the new UFC Champion, Pereira, and mocked, saying” who let this guy in.”
