Conor McGregor: UFC News: Being the biggest PPV draw in the UFC, Conor McGregor seems one win far from calling a world title shot. Upon beating Michael Chandler, McGregor can expectedly receive a championship bout at 155 lbs or even at 170 lbs. However, Justin Gaethje wouldn’t like to see ‘Notorious’ get a crack at the 155 lbs gold before him. Follow UFC News Updates with InsideSport.IN.

Number three-ranked lightweight, Justin Gaethje wants to face his former foe and number two-ranked 155-pounder Dustin Poirier next. He is optimistic about stopping Poirier but can quit the UFC if he is snubbed of the title shot over Conor McGregor.

In a chat with ESPN MMA, Justin Gaethje said, “Would I quit, if Conor [McGregor] won and they gave him a title shot? Probably. You know that’s how hurt I would be by the actions of the company [UFC] that I represent. But that’s out of my control. So, you know, I just hope that doesn’t really happen.”

Conor McGregor is currently coaching the upcoming season of TUF 31 against Team Michael Chandler. The TV show will be aired in May and McGregor vs Chandler can happen somewhere in July or August.

It is yet to be known whether the fight will happen in the lightweight (155 lbs) or the welterweight (170 lbs) category. Meanwhile, both McGregor and Chandler have had their last UFC outings at 155 lbs.

Can Conor McGregor sideline Justin Gaethje?

Justin Gaethje is one of the most popular names in the UFC lightweight division. He has never been into a sloppy contest. Gaethje ensures extreme action and fans get to witness an epic fight every time he steps in. Nevertheless, Conor McGregor is still away ahead of ‘Highlight’ in terms of Box Office success.

Meanwhile, Conor McGregor’s recent physique cites him to be returning as a welterweight contender. If such happens, Gaethje can have an easier way to earning the title shot, but beating Dustin Poirier will be sheerly demanding. When Dustin Poirier fought Justin Gaethje in 2018, ‘Diamind’ knocked out the ‘Highlight’.
