At UFC 296, “Chaos” will finally make his octagon comeback against Leon Edwards. On December 16, the fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The American attacked Makhachev and Nurmagomedov before what is likely to be the biggest bout of his career, saying that they were both afraid of him and would not step up to the welterweight division.

Colby Covington Taps Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Dad And Says “The Eagle” Fears Him
Colby Covington, a welterweight in the UFC, is back in the spotlight once more following the announcement of his matchup for UFC 296. For the 170-pound title, Covington will compete against welterweight champion Leon Edwards. Covington expressed his opinions on this battle and presented a confident front in his most recent interview with James Lynch. However, Covington’s challenge of lightweight champion Islam Makhachev was the interview’s high point. He also cited Khabib Nurmagomedov, a member of the UFC Hall of Fame.
Islam Makhachev, the current lightweight champion, has frequently expressed his desire to fight for the welterweight championship. Makhachev thought he had an advantage against Leon Edwards and might win both titles. At UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, the Dagestani fighter will face Charles Oliviera to defend his lightweight title.
Covington stated that he wanted Makhachev to advance and challenge him after defeating Edwards. Khabib Nurmagomedov, according to Colby, dodged him before quitting.
“He’s (Makhachev) trying to ride the coattails of Khabib’s success and what he was able to accomplish,” He’s not Khabib, it’s not the same thing you know. Khabib was scared of me. He didn’t want to come up to welterweight cause of me so, even his daddy knows that it’s not smart to come up to welterweight.”
