“I think Ravindra Jadeja was thrown under the boat with no fault of his own. He was given the captaincy at such a short notice. And now, MSD is back as captain. It will not do him any good,” said Simon Doull.

It came as quite a shock to all when Chennai Super Kings announced that Ravindra Jadeja has given up his captaincy to focus on his individual game, and thus former skipper MS Dhoni has decided to take up the reins of the team. While many have pointed out that Jadeja was at fault for CSK’s horrendous performance this season, quite a few have turned up in support of Jadeja.

Former New Zealand Cricketer and commentator Simon Doull however, has backed Jadeja and has claimed that he had been thrown under the bus. Doull believes that the then-new skipper Jadeja committed no fault. Doull further went on to explain that Ravindra Jadeja was given the captaincy at very short notice and that had an adverse effect on him.

Right before the commencement of the IPL 2022 season, Chennai Super Kings announced that MS Dhoni would not be leading the Chennai outfits this season but Jadeja would be appointed as the skipper. CSK displayed a horror show after losing their opening four games. They now stand in the penultimate place on the points table after having won 2 games.
Doull further explains that now that the captaincy has been given back to MS Dhoni, it would do no good for Jadeja, who most likely could once again be the skipper of the Chennai outfits.
