PV Sindhu hasn’t won a title since her World Championship win in 2019, but the Indian badminton queen had a solid return to the court last year. Sindhu became the first Indian shuttler to win multiple Olympic medals after her bronze medal triumph in Tokyo last August. She also made it to four semi-finals in 2021 but failed to win a title in a highly consistent but frustrating year for the Indian.
Sindhu began the Indian Open in fine style, sealing a comfortable win in the first round. The No.1 seed brushed aside fellow countrywoman Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli 21-5, 21-16 to seal a place in round 2. Her next opponent is Ira Sharma, who defeated Doha Hany 21-10, 21-11 in her 1st round win.
