Kidambi Srikanth got his campaign off to a bright start after he sealed a comfortable first-round win over fellow Indian shuttler Siril Verma. The No.1 seed clinched a 21-17, 21-10 win to set up a tie with Kim Bruun, who defeated Subhankar Dey in three sets in his opener.
Srikanth, a former World No.1 had a solid 2021, which he capped off with a silver medal at the BWF World Championships, the best effort by an Indian male shuttler.
