Wasim Jaffer, former Indian cricketer took to Twitter to congratulate Ashwin. Wasim posted a video where a man can be seen struggling on a rotating belt. Host India bowled out the visitors for just 177 runs in the first innings. The left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja, who made his comeback to international cricket, picked up a five-wicket haul while Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets to restrict the opposition to a low score. In the second innings, veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin made an impact with the ball in his first over, dismissing the Usman Khawaja for just five runs. The 36-year-old dismissed David Warner, Matt Renshaw, Peter Handscomb, and Alex Carey in quick succession to complete his 31st five-wicket haul in the longer format. The off-spinner, who has been a vital player in sub-continental conditions, completed the milestone in just 10 overs.
On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami took 2 wickets each and Axar Patel scalped 1 wicket. With an all-around performance team India defeated Australia by an inning and 132 runs.
