Tottenham Hotspur took on Newcastle United on Sunday to gain some advantage to progress into the top 4 spots. However, Newcastle defeated them by a whopping 6-1 scoreline. Spurs are without a manager now and their interim manager decided to experiment with the defense line which tragically backfired. Harry Kane gave back a single goal, but that was not enough to pull Spurs out of the dread.

Spurs will now host Manchester United on Thursday and they will be determined to get back to winning ways after two continuous defeats. Man United are currently in the 4th position in the Premier League table with the same points as Newcastle but with one less game played. Hence, a win will see them go back up to the 3rd position. This will give them the motivation to approach the match with extra caution.

On the other hand, they are still flying high from the win against Brighton on Sunday which saw them progress to the FA Cup final. Hence, they will also be full of confidence as they take on the Lilywhites. Man United boss Erik Ten Hag is perfectly aware of the impact Harry Kane can have in a match. However, he also acknowledged that he also has a plan to stop the prolific striker on his tracks.

Ten Hag said, “It is quite clear his impact on the game. We have a plan, of course, for that. In the first game we did very well so for tomorrow we need that very good plan as well.” He added, You have to defend him as a team and he is a clever player, so don’t allow him to come in the situations where he can have a big impact on the game.”

It is already clear that Erik Ten Hag is a fan of the England striker. Manchester United are looking for a striker who will be sure to provide them with goals on a regular basis, like Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, or Victor Osimhen. Kane has been the primary target for Ten Hag for quite some time and reportedly, Man United have already started their work on signing him. However, they will have to break the bank to bring the player in as Spurs are ready to demand at least £80 million, which can go up to £100 million for Premier League clubs.
