Spain starlet Lamine Yamal becomes youngest player to play in UEFA Euro

The record for the youngest scorer in the European Championship still belongs to Switzerland’s Johan Vonlanthen, who was 18 years and 141 days old when he scored against France in Euro 2004

As he took to the field in the Spain vs Croatia EURO 2024 game at the Olympstadion Berlina, Lamine Yamal became the youngest player to ever play in the UEFA Euro Cup. At just 16 years, 11 months, and 2 days old, Yamal will shatter the record previously set by Poland’s Kacper Kozlowski, who played at the last European Championship at 17 years and 246 days old..

Yamal has had a fantastic start to his international career since making his debut late last year under Luis De La Fuente, with two goals and two assists in six matches. Yamal became the youngest player to score for Spain in a 7-1 defeat of Georgia in the European Qualifiers, and he appears to be a lock for the right-winger position at Euro 2024.
