According to reports, Neymar is only willing to leave PSG to join Manchester United. This wouldn’t have been well taken by other Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Newcastle, and even Manchester City, who all showed their interest in the Brazilian.
It is said that Neymar’s transfer to Manchester United totally depends on the new owners, so there will be a wait till the takeover of the club is completed. English billionaire, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is leading the race to become the new owner of Manchester United alongside Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Neymar joined Paris Saint Germain for a record fee of €222 million in 2017. He has scored more than 100 goals for the club since then, however, he expected to lead the club to European glory which he failed to do. Neymar’s career at PSG has been cursed by injuries as he has missed more than 100 games. This season alone, he missed more than 15 games due to an ankle injury, which has kept him on the sidelines since February.
The 31-year-old started the season on a high note and was the top scorer and assist provider before going to the World Cup. But the recent injury kept him on the sidelines and he ended the season with 13 goals and 11 assists in 20 Ligue 1 games.
Neymar still has 2 years left in his contract, which he renewed in 2021 with PSG. So, it won’t be an easy deal for Manchester United to sign the Brazilian. Chances are that, he might stay at the club amidst all this. Recently, he was seen in a promotional video for the club, which was for PSG’s kit for next season.
However, if Neymar joins United, fans will be excited to witness the duo of Rashford and Neymar.
