According to sources, Pep Guardiola called Neymar to ask about his plans before the transfer season. This summer, Neymar’s future at Paris Saint-Germain is uncertain. An injury ended the forward’s season early, and he has angered the team with some of his actions, including going to the Monaco Grand Prix as his teammates celebrated their league title.

Neymar appeared to be thinking about something other than football when he bumped with A-list celebs at the race. Before the transfer window opens, Manchester City manager Guardiola called Neymar for a meeting in order to understand exactly what the Brazilian is considering. Neymar is not expected to transfer to the Etihad, the report continues, despite Guardiola’s concern for his welfare.

Newcastle and Manchester United have expressed interest in the superstar, although a move to the Premier League has also been mentioned. PSG is reportedly ready to listen to bids for Neymar, with Man Utd reportedly considering a deal, according to SunSport.

However, that might only occur if prospective owner Sheikh Jassim buys the team. Casemiro, a star for United, is apparently attempting to convince his Brazilian teammate to transfer to Old Trafford.

The injury-hit PSG forward has managed 13 goals and 11 assists in just 20 Ligue 1 games this season. Neymar turns 32 next season and currently earns a staggering £600,000-plus per week. His contract runs until 2025 and PSG might be considering getting a fee for him while they can.

PSG fans cross with Neymar

It seems as though all the bridges have been broken between PSG fans and Neymar. At the start of May, outside the team’s headquarters, a group of supporters was overheard urging the club’s board to step down. This also then included another video that showed a different group of fans visiting Neymar’s house and pleading with him to quit the team.

Fans were heard yelling for football star Lionel Messi to leave, reportedly also expressing their dissatisfaction with the player. PSG was quick to denounce these fans and address that what they did was not right.

PSG’s statement read, ‘Paris Saint-Germain most strongly condemns the intolerable and insulting actions of a small group of individuals that took place on Wednesday. Whatever the differences of opinion, nothing justifies such actions. The club gives its full support to its players, its staff and all those targeted by such shameful behaviour.
