Former Man United midfielder Paul Ince has hit out hard against Bruno Fernandes for his poor leadership skills after the Everton game.

Paul Ince has won two Premier League titles with Man United and was one of the successful captains at Old Trafford. He spoke to talkSPORT: “I don’t know what I see in Fernandes. Is he leader by the way he plays? At the moment he’s not playing to the best of his ability. Yes, he scored the winner against Fulham. But as far as being a leader, you do it by organisation.

Former United midfielder added, “I, as a captain, always felt, my main thing was if I wasn’t playing well, make sure the people around you are playing well because it shows how bad you’re playing. When you look at Fernandes, sometimes it’s just about him. When he’s not playing well, you can see it in his body language. You can see him arguing with the ref.”

Bruno Fernandes replaced Harry Maguire as the new skipper of Manchester United. The Englishman was struggling and failing to play regularly under Erik ten Hag. Bruno was officially named captain at the start of this season. He didn’t get appreciation for his captaincy as experts criticised for his attitude. He was on the radar of the former Man United players last season when Liverpool hammered Man United at Anfield.

The Portuguese midfielder was also questioned various times for the club’s poor start to the new season. The Red Devils lost nine of their opening 19 games. They are even on the verge of facing group-stage elimination from the Champions League. They lost three out of four games and slipped to the bottom of the group table.

Bruno Fernandes will be in action for Man United for a crucial Champions League encounter against Galatasaray on Wednesday in Istanbul. Erik Ten Hag’s men cannot afford a defeat here. With three points from four games, they desperately need a win. However, the Red Devils have reached to sixth spot in the Premier League and they will face Newcastle on December 2.
