Antony and Doku squabble on the pitch

Thanks to two goals from Erling Haaland and one from Phil Foden, Manchester City came out on top at Old Trafford. This win puts them on track with Tottenham and Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

Man United’s Antony was booked in stoppage time for a violent lunge on Doku after grasping at the winger’s ankles. The two fought as the former Ajax player entered the book, and Doku later tweeted a picture of the incident to his Instagram Stories.

Doku put a picture of him and Antony with the text, ‘Stay calm…’, alongside a massage emoji. This was accompanied by the text, ‘Manchester is Blue’, with a trademark blue heart.

Gary Neville lambasted Antony for being ’embarassing’ after he slammed Doku. Antony appeared to be enraged by the Belgian winger’s tackle on Doku late in the game. The pundit was quick to blast the Brazilian winger. Neville said, ‘Antony just has a kick out at Doku. Manchester United have lost their discipline and it starts with their captain. Ridiculous and embarrassing from Antony. I’d just send him off. United have gone missing in the second half.’

Manchester City celebrate wildly after Derby win

Man City players celebrated furiously in the Old Trafford dressing room after the resounding victory. This is before resuming preparations for Bournemouth on Saturday. Doku posted some footage on social media from the dressing room which showed the players jumping up and down. They were also seen and heard chanting, ”Champions again, ole ole!’

It reflects Pep Guardiola’s current high level of confidence. This also reflects the natural desire to celebrate a great win in a rival stadium.

Rasmus Hojlund was adjudged to have put his arm around Rodri and dragged him to the ground in the penalty area 24 minutes into the match at Old Trafford. Haaland converted the penalty before scoring his second four minutes later. Phil Foden scored Man City’s third goal with ten minutes remaining.

Despite the defeat, Manchester United remains eighth in the Premier League table. Manchester City, meanwhile, moves to within two points of league leaders Tottenham and even with Arsenal. Before the next international break in the middle of November, Manchester City has three home games against Bournemouth, Young Boys, and Chelsea.

Manchester United will be locking horns with Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup midweek. Then they face Fulham, Copenhagen in the UCL, and Luton Town before the International Break.
