Chennaiyin FC vs Mohammedan SC, ISL 2024-25: Kolkata giants Mohammedan SC have earned their maiden win of Indian Super League. Lalremsanga Fanai scored from the 39th minute after a schoolboy error by Chennaiyin FC goalkeeper Samik Mitra who failed to intercept a backpass. Fanai only had to tap in home. Mohammedan had a chance to double the lead from the penalty spot. But Cesar Manzoki missed the chance.

In their campaign opener, the Kolkata giants put up a tough performance against NorthEast United FC but ultimately lost by a single goal. In their next ISL match, Mohammedan SC showed promise against FC Goa, taking the lead in the 66th minute when Alexis Gomez successfully converted a penalty. However, Armando Sadiku’s late goal for FC Goa changed the outcome in the final moments.

Meanwhile, Chennaiyin FC had a decent start to their ISL campaign. They won their opening fixture 3-2 on 14th September and will now be looking for their second win of the season.
