The much-awaited decision regarding the Anwar Ali saga has been reached. The Player Status Committee (PSC) has finally given their verdict where the player has been banned for a period of 4 months. Furthermore, Mohun Bagan Super Giant is set to be paid a compensation fee of 12.9 crores by Anwar Ali, East Bengal, and Delhi FC.
In what happens to be a historic decision in Indian Football, the Mariners are pretty satisfied with the outcome. Previously, the PSC had determined that Anwar’s contract termination from the Green and Maroon brigade was classified as ‘unjust’ following which the decision came from the PSC.

The misery for East Bengal and Delhi FC however doesn’t end here. Both the clubs have been banned from registering any new players for 2 transfer windows. These will include the upcoming winter transfer window and the following summer transfer window of 2025.
Landmark victory for Mohun Bagan
The Mariners are happy with the decision. The deposition was led from the front by Vinay Chopra and his team of top lawyers from the city. And the Green and Maroon brigade is finally happy that the result of the PSC has been majorly in their favor.
But as things stand, this just might not be the end of the Anwar Ali saga. Both parties have the option of taking the PSC’s decision to the appeals committee.
As per the AIFF guidelines, Any party intending to appeal must inform the AIFF Appeal Committee of its intention to do so in writing within three (3) days of notification of the decision.
Reasons for the appeal must then be given in writing to AIFF within a further time limit of seven (7) days, This seven-day period begins after the first deadline of three (3) days has expired. If this requirement has not been complied with, the appeal is not admitted.
It can be expected that Ranjit Bajaj and East Bengal will be appealing the decision very soon. But as things stand, all three parties have been instructed to pay Mohun Bagan a mammoth compensation amount of 12.9 crores.
