Other change that will be put into effect starting June 30th includes goal celebrations in added time. In other words, players won’t be allowed to celebrate on the pitch for more than a minute or a minute and a half. FIFA hopes to reduce the number of time-outs in football.
The offside issue, which could potentially benefit strikers, has also been discussed at previous IFAB meetings. Arsene Wenger, FIFA’s director of football development, supports the change that would enable the striker to be in front of the defender but with part of his body in line.
