Yuzvendra Chahal etched his name even deeper into IPL folklore on Monday, becoming the first-ever player to reach the coveted milestone of 200 wickets in the tournament’s history. The wily leg-spinner achieved the feat during the match between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians in Jaipur on Monday.

Chahal, already the IPL’s leading wicket-taker, has reached the landmark at an astonishing average of just 21.37. His wicket-taking prowess is further emphasized by his remarkable strike rate of taking a wicket every 16.6 balls bowled.

The crafty spinner’s journey to 200 began with his stint at Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where he carved a reputation as a vital cog in their bowling attack. During his eight seasons with RCB, Chahal snagged a staggering 139 wickets in 113 matches.

Since moving to Rajasthan Royals in the 2022 mega auction, Chahal hasn’t missed a beat, adding another 61 wickets to his tally in just 38 matches.
