Techie in disbelief as his Oracle colleague turns out to be member of USA’s T20 World Cup squad

The 32-year-old Saurabh Netravalkar, who shone for India in the 2010 U19 World Cup, has been juggling his cricket career and work in the United States.

When an Indian techie took to X to share that one of his coworkers, who works in software at Oracle, will be representing the United States of America (USA) in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, his post instantly went viral. The individual in question, Saurabh Netravalkar, is a member of the 15-man USA team led by Monak Patel for the T20 World Cup.

Saurabh Netravalkar: The cricketer-turned-techie

The 32-year-old Saurabh Netravalkar, who shone for India in the 2010 U19 World Cup, has been juggling his cricket career and work in the United States, according to Chirag, a software engineer, who posted on the social media platform X (previously Twitter). Netravalkar is a left-arm seamer who was born in Mumbai. In 48 ODIs and 24 T20Is, he has claimed 73 wickets for USA.

Just found out in my company there is a guy who played Under 19 Cricket World Cup for India back in 2010 and now lives in US works in Oracle and gonna be playing T20 WC next month for USA!” Chirag wrote on X.

It’s important to remember that Netravalkar played for India in the 2010 U19 World Cup, where he shared the field with players like Mayank Agarwal, Jaydev Unadkat, and KL Rahul. The 32-year-old relocated to the United States after making his first-class debut for Mumbai in 2013 because of a lack of opportunities.
