WPL 2024: Beth Mooney returns as Gujarat Giants skipper with Sneh Rana as her deputy

After exiting the tournament after just one game in 2023, Beth Mooney is all set to return as Gujarat Giants skipper for WPL 2024

Australia’s Beth Mooney is all set to return as Gujarat Giants skipper for Women’s Premier League 2024 (WPL 2024). Alongside the Aussie, Sneh Rana will be her deputy for the side. In the inaugural WPL edition, Mooney was named skipper but had to leave after a single game owing to injury.

“I am delighted to be back with Gujarat Giants and grateful for the team’s trust in me. We have a fantastic squad, and I am confident we will put up a good show. It is good WPL will be played in Bengaluru and New Delhi, which are new to the tournament,” said Mooney.

Rana, who was named stand-in skipper in place of Mooney in WPL 2023, will be her deputy for the upcoming edition.

“The second season of WPL will be another festival of cricket. That Beth is back as skipper is fantastic news, and I will do everything I can to support her. The squad is well-balanced, and we are in a good place as a team,” said Rana.
