Former Chennai Super Kings bater Suresh Raina has finally revealed why he was released by the franchise. The prolific batter was released ahead of IPL 2021 amid countless speculations over why he parted ways with the side. In an interview with Lallantop, Raina shares details of why he had to leave CSK abruptly in that season.
Why did Suresh Raina leave CSK?
“There was a death in my family. I went to Punjab. I thought it is cricket and hence it can be played ahead. I had informed both the team (CSK) management and MS Dhoni as well,” Suresh Raina said.

Raina delved into details about the ban that CSL faced and revealed that the players had nothing to do with the spot-fixing scandal in the Indian Premier League.
“We had no clue. The anti-corruption team of BCCI is very strict. The player will be go to jail if he or she ever indulges in fixing,” Raina added.
