Watch Sri Lankan fan girl’s dream turn into reality, meets Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli received the best possible gift from one of the Sri Lankan fans. The young fan gifted a portrait of Kohli amidst Asia Cup

In whichever part of the globe Virat Kohli is playing, one thing is common and guaranteed – fan following. Be it Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, or most recently Sri Lanka, Kohli has a huge fan following, which transcends age groups as well. One such Sri Lankan young girl who madly follows Kohli finally got to meet the Indian icon amidst the Asia Cup.

In a video that is going viral, the Lankan girl was also seen presenting the portrait of Kohli. The fan could not control her emotions and was seen saying, “I’ve been waiting to meet you since 2009.” Kohli gleefully accepted the gift and said, “Thank you for this.”

Speaking about Kohli, the former India captain is in superb form in the ongoing Asia Cup. In the two innings that he has batted, the 35-year-old has slammed a match-winning hundred against arch-rivals Pakistan. However, the RCB batter missed out on scoring runs against Sri Lanka. India will next take on Bangladesh in the Asia Cup on Friday. The Men in Blue are the first team to book a place in the finals of Asia Cup.

Virat Kohli: Kohli’s glitch against left-arm spin bowlers exposed, batter keen to rectify change ahead of World Cup

India’s stalwart batter Virat Kohli’s weakness was exposed once again as his horror run against left-arm orthodox spinners continued. In the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four encounter against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, young spinner Dunith Wellalage didn’t let Kohli feel easy on the same pitch on which he struck a century just a night before.

Kohli made an attempt to flick a short-length delivery, which gripped the surface. The lack of control brought Kohli’s end as the ball landed straight into the hands of skipper Dasun Shanaka. Wellalage dismissing Kohli was just another reminder of his rough patch against the left-arm orthodox in the ODI format since 2021.

After facing 159 deliveries, the Indian batter has scored 104 runs at an average of 13 and a strike rate of 65.4. The shot to which he fell on Tuesday was reminiscent of his manner of dismissals on previous eight occasions to left-arm spin.

With India next to play Bangladesh, Kohli would be keen to dominate left-arm slow bowlers.
