Jonty Rhodes might be 54 years of age, but at heart, he still is a child. The proof of that was all to be seen when he overshadowed his kids on the trampoline. Somersaulting the 30s and 40s might be impossible for some, but not for Rhodes, who effortlessly did that on a trampoline in his 50s. The former South African had a day out with his kids.

Nonchalantly, Rhodes kids asked me if I could do anything “special “ on the trampoline “Sure”, I said, “I used to be able to do a backward somersault”, “When?” asked my nervous wife, “at school” I replied; “Jnr. school”, 40yrs.

Rhodes’ kids loved the way their dad did the acrobatic stunt and started jumping on the trampoline with a new vigor. The viral video of Rhodes was loved by one and all, and the netizens flooded the comments section. One of the users wrote, ” Oh wow if you’ve not done this after school days and pulling it off now.” Another one commented, “This is nothing Jonty Singh Sidhu could do a somersault and land on the neighbor’s trampoline.”

While others simply loved Rhodes somersault was as smooth as butter. To note, Rhodes was one of the finest fielders to play the game. The former South African player revolutionized fielding and pioneered fielding. Not only fielding, but the 54-year-old was also one of the fittest cricketers of his time.

Even before Virat Kohli brought the fitness revolution, Rhodes’s name was always up there when it came to fitness during the 90s and early 2000s. After retiring from cricket, the 54-year-old is currently taking a coaching role. Rhodes was with Mumbai Indians as the fielding coach for a decade. Currently, he is serving as a batting coach in the Punjab Kings team.
