Watch: Injured Mohammad Rizwan tests out new ‘tactic’ to prepare for T20 World Cup 2024

Rizwan had recently become the fastest batter to score 3000 T20I runs (in terms of innings) and was even rewarded with a special jersey for the feat by the PCB chairman.

Mohammad Rizwan may have suffered a hamstring injury and is unlikely to play in the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England, but that hasn’t stopped him from preparing for the T20 World Cup 2024. Rizwan had suffered the injury during the PAK vs NZ 3rd ODI on April 21, and according to Cricket Pakistan, the wicketkeeper batter was expected to be out for 2-4 weeks.

Mohammad Rizwan turns lefty

Two weeks have passed, but Rizwan hasn’t gained complete fitness. Training at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, he was seen batting left-handed, in what is likely an attempt to keep himself ready and not put stress on his hamstring. He’s traveled with the Pakistan cricket team to Ireland, and Babar Azam would hope that he’s completely fit before the T20 World Cup 2024.
