The competition among all-rounders ahead of the T20 World Cup seems to be heating up. Wanindu Hasaranga is now tied with Shakib Al Hasan as the number one ranked all-rounder in T20Is. The latest rankings come as a good sign for Hasaranga-led Sri Lanka as they head into the T20 World Cup 2024.
Hasaranga tied with Shakib for no.1 all-rounder in T20Is
As per the latest rankings, ex-Bangladesh skipper Shakib dropped three rating points after his appearances in the last two games against Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, Hasaranga has found his way to the top of the chart. Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza gains two places to rise to fourth position. Hardik Pandya is the only Indian in the top 10, currently placed in the 7th position.

Hasaranga returned to the national side after being on the sidelines due to an injury. The star all-rounder decided to give IPL 2024 a skip in order to recover and prepare for the T20 World Cup. Similarly, Shakib al Hasan was also out of action owing to an injury and an eye issue since the ODI World Cup 2023. He made his comeback in the last two T20Is against Zimbabwe.
With both stars back in their respective teams, all eyes will be on their performances in the upcoming marquee event.
