Virat Kohli not ‘selfish’ as KL Rahul confirms denying single
KL Rahul is trending on Twitter due to his refusal to take single so that Virat Kohli got to his third World Cup ton against Bangladesh

Virat Kohli got to his 48th ODI hundred in a fairy-tale way as there were drama, excitement, and tension everywhere against Bangladesh. With only 20 runs needed, and for Kohli, 8 runs were needed to get a hundred, KL Rahul refused to take singles and allowed his batting partner to get to the three figures. While Rahul won plenty of praise for his on-field gesture, netizens came hard at Kohli and started calling him selfish. However, during the post-match presentation, Rahul denied saying Kohli is not selfish.

KL Rahul said, “I denied single to Virat Kohli, he said it would be bad if you won’t take singles, people will think I’m playing for personal milestone. But I said we are comfortably winning, you complete your century”.

With India winning the match comfortably and also with no worries regarding the Net run rate, Rahul thought Kohli could easily get to his third WC hundred. While the wicketkeeper tried his level best to get Kohli to the magical three figures, the Bangladesh bowler tried his level best to deny Kohli the 48th ODI hundred by bowling a wide ball.

On-field umpire Richard Kettlebrough thought the ball was too close to be called a wide. On the next ball, Kohli came down the ground and completed his hundred with the six to seal a famous victory for India.

Virat Kohli’s sublime hundred, Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round heroics powres India to 4th win WC

While everyone is talking about Kohli’s century, Ravindra Jadeja was the star with the ball in hand and field. The southpaw took two wickets and took a blinder of a catch to send the dangerous Mahamadullah. It was Jadeja’s economical spell that put the brakes on Bangladesh’s innings.

India have now won all the four matches that they have played. They will next take on New Zealand on Sunday (October 22).
