Virat Kohli completes 250 sixes in IPL, 4th on the list of batters with most sixes in the tournament

Kohli is only behind Chris Gayle, Rohit Sharma and AB De Villiers in the list of batters to hit most sixes in IPL.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Virat Kohli on Sunday completed his 250th six of IPL against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. Kohli, who only trails three other batters in the list of most sixes in IPL, played a quickfire innings of 18 from 7 balls before being dismissed in somewhat of a controversial manner.

Virat on Sunday started his innings with a bang. Chasing a target of 222, Kohli looked on song as he hammered two sixes to bring up his 250th IPL six. He has already hit 16 sixes this season, the same tally as the entire last season.

Kohli’s highest tally of sixes stands at 38 in IPL 2016 and he is almost halfway there as the tournament moves towards its 2nd part.

Kohli has been in tremendous form in this IPL. He has scored 379 runs in 8 matches and is currently the Orange Cap holder.

His ability to hit sixes has never been a question but Kohli has reinvented himself this IPL, slamming runs at an average of over 70 in IPL 2024.

Kohli is only behind Chris Gayle, Rohit Sharma and AB De Villiers in the list of batters to hit most sixes in IPL. Kohli can become the third in the list in the coming games, with the RCB batter trailing ABD by just a single six.
