Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar opined that Travis Head was India’s biggest threat in their Champions Trophy semi-final clash. The explosive opener has haunted India in all the big stages so far, with the memory of his knock from the 2023 ODI World Cup final still fresh in the minds of the Indians. Ahead of the contest, Manjrekar stressed on the need to send Head packing as soon as possible in the tie in Dubai.
“Somebody get Head out”
Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, Manjrekar pointed out that the Indian team would want to send Head back to the dressing room as soon as possible. He picked Head being dismissed as his “moment of the game”. In the 2023 ODI World Cup final, Head tormented India with his 137-run knock that eventually steered Australia to yet another title, while India were handed a heartbreak.
“Somebody get Travis Head out, whoever that is. He is one guy that India will really want back in the dressing room very quickly. That is going to be the moment for me. Travis Head,” Manjrekar said.
