Team India’s first batch led by Rohit Sharma en route to USA for T20 World Cup 2024

The Indian team will kickstart their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Ireland on June 5 after playing a warm-up fixture against Bangladesh on June 1

Excitement is brewing as India’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign inches closer. Today, May 25th, the first batch of players, led by Captain Rohit Sharma, are scheduled to depart for the USA. These are the cricketers whose IPL franchises didn’t make it to the playoffs.

Fueling the anticipation, a lucky fan recently shared a photo on social media posing with Rohit Sharma. The picture, presumably taken before the team’s official departure, shows the Indian skipper sporting a relaxed smile.

Which players will leave for USA in the first batch?

As reported earlier, the entire Indian team will leave for USA in two batches, depending upon their IPL team’s status in the cash-rice league. While none of the selected 15 members are part of the IPL 2024 final, the first batch, including 10 Indian players in Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah will travel together tonight.

What about the second Indian team batch?

The remaining members will be following shortly. A second batch, including Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, and reserves Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, and Rinku Singh, is scheduled to leave on May 27. All the Men in Blue players are expected to connect via Dubai for their flights to New York. Hardik Pandya, currently in London, will likely travel directly to the USA from his current location.

With both batches arriving soon, the excitement for the World Cup is building. The entire team will be assembled and ready to take on the challenge starting June 1st.
